Windy City Wire buys C.W. Cable

May 9, 2007 -- C.W. Cable, which serves the greater Seattle, Washington and Portland, Oregon areas, will now operate as a Windy City Wire facility.

May 9, 2007 -- Windy City Wire (Bolingbrook, IL) announced that it has acquired C.W. Cable (Kent, WA). The acquisition is effective as of May 7, 2007.

C.W. Cable, which serves the greater Seattle, Washington and Portland, Oregon areas, will now operate as a Windy City Wire facility. According to Windy City, benefits to C.W.'s existing customer base will include the time saving features of Windy City's 24-hour SmartWire e-commerce site, same day shipping on the company's SmartWire Select items, and the cable management capabilities of the company's SmartWire system design tool.

Windy City Wire currently operates out of locations in Bolingbrook, IL; Secaucus, NJ; Tempe, AZ; Los Angeles, CA; and Kent, WA. The company says its flagship SmartWire wire and cable products incorporate the qualities of a tape measure, tester, toner and a label maker.

The company serves system contractors in the markets for security, access control, CCTV, fire alarm, temperature control and home automation.
