S.I. Tech releases video/audio/data-to-fiber Bit-Driver

May 14, 2006 -- Fiber-optic systems manufacturer S.I. Tech has released its Model 2829 Video/Audio/Data to Fiber Optic Bit-Driver.

According to the company, the product is designed for applications including CCTV security systems, medical hospitals, large complexes, training rooms, homeland and border security, and others where high quality digital video imaging, 2-way communication, and pan/tilt/zoom camera control is required.

The Model 2829 is suitable for video formats such as composite video (CVBS), S-Video, NTSC, and PAL video standards for global applications. Audio can be mono or stereo digitized high quality audio. Data rates up to 115.2 Kbit/sec are supported with interface protocols such as RS232, RS422, RS485 and TTL.

Video can be black-and-white or full color. The device can be used with multimode or singlemode fiber (long distances) and 1 or 2 fibers if limited fibers are available. Other features include status indicators and built-in color bar testing.

Also available is S.I. Tech's Kit #15, which includes two 2829 Bit-Driver units, an LCD TV monitor, a video camera, and other accessories for plug-and-play systems. Additional information can be found here.
