February 21, 2007 -- Belden has added BNC and RCA connectors to its Brilliance line of A/V products for the professional broadcast and entertainment industry.

According to the company, the BNC and RCA connectors are available in both straight and right angle versions and feature a solid, one-piece construction, plated in either nickel or gold, with gold-plated center pins. The connectors also feature two independent compression points to seal and hold the connector onto the miniature coaxial cable and ensure electrical contact.

The company maintains that, with the two compression points, plus a patent-pending viewing window within the connector, installing the connectors becomes much easier to accomplish. A self-centering internal design allows seating of the coax conductor into the contact and holding it securely for a flawless electrical connection. Both connectors offer a cable retention force of > 40 lbs. and a center conductor holding force of >150 grams.

Belden also offers stripping and compression tools to simplify the connectorization process. The tools are designed to provide faster, easier termination of Belden 75-ohm Mini Hi-Res component video coax cables, while ensuring secure and reliable connections.

The Belden Mini Hi-Res precision analog/digital component video cables, which are offered in both Banana Peel and jacketed constructions, are used in RGB, VGA, DTV and HDTV applications and suitable for deployment in corporate boardrooms, teleconferencing centers, performance venues and post-production facilities.
