TIA elects eight new board members

March 29, 2004 - Slate of officers picked for 2004.

The Telecommunications Industry Association has elected eight new board members and announced the slate of officers for 2004.

New board members are Bryan Glutting, vice president, Atlanta Cable Sales; Keith Landau, vice president, wireless voice core development, Nortel Networks; John McQueen, chairman and CEO, TPM Inc.; Chris Rust, president and CEO, Mahi Networks; Jim Schleckser, president, Spirent Communications-Broadband Service Assurance; and John Schofield, chairman, president and CEO, AFC. Perry Kamel, executive vice president and general manager, Siemens Next Generations Networks and Mikael Stromquist, executive vice president and general manager, Ericsson, Inc. will take over unfulfilled seats on the board.

The slate of officers for this year is as follows:

* Chairman: Mike Kennedy, senior vice president and director of global government relations, Motorola,
* Vice chairman: E. Van Cullens, CEO, Westell, Inc.,
* Secretary: John Giere, chief marketing officer, Lucent Technologies,
* Treasurer: Gerry Kennedy, principle vice president, Bechtel Telecom.
