The International Firestop Council has appointed Hubert Dudley as executive director.
Dudley will be responsible for the organization's business and financial management, coordinating member and external communications, and steering education, training and marketing initiatives. He will also serve as a representative of the association at industry trade shows, conferences and speaking engagements.
"Hugh's extensive background in construction, building codes and association management is the ideal blend for helping IFC educate about firestopping," says Steven Tyler, president of the IFC. "Under Hugh's guidance, we will continue to make an impact in promoting the need for firestopping."
A published author and holder of six U.S. patents, Dudley is president of Constructive Consulting, Inc. He now serves as executive director for the National Fireproofing Contractors Association and the National Roof Deck Contractors Association. He also served nine years as director of quality control for the National Particleboard Association. Dudley spent more than 18 years at W.R. Grace & Co., handling research and marketing initiatives for its Construction Products division. He has a bachelor's degree in wood technology from West Virginia University, and completed advanced course work from George Washington University, MIT and Syracuse University.
