The Telecommunications Industry Association along with the Telecommunications Industry Group will hold its ninth annual Supplier Diversity Summit at SUPERCOMM 2004.
The summit will take place June 21, at McCormick Place in Chicago. This annual event is part of the free industry programming at SUPERCOMM.
The Supplier Diversity Summit is a forum for minority, women and disabled veteran owned business enterprises and corporate supplier diversity teams. It is designed to help them stay current on the latest business, political, regulatory and technical activities in the telecommunications industry. This year's summit will provide an opportunity for attendees to learn new strategies and tactics for growth and success and to explore potential business opportunities focused on supply chain trends.
The summit will feature a morning panel moderated by Ralph Moore of Ralph G. Moore & Associates. Telecom executives will discuss strategies and tactics that will provide the greatest potential for diverse suppliers' success, survival and sustainable business. This forum is designed to create a platform for suppliers to discuss how they can refocus, capitalize on synergies and gain leverage from the experiences faced by corporations in telecommunications.
The morning panel will be followed by an afternoon luncheon where attendees will have the opportunity to meet one-on-one with corporate supplier diversity advocates. Participants will explore how to successfully navigate the telecom corporate supply chain.
The afternoon panel session will be moderated by Joe Mena, president, Summit Container Corp. Panelists will discuss how to utilize Tier 2 vs. Tier 1 suppliers to create efficiencies; teaming or bundling services and products to create one-stop shopping; achieving Public Utility Commission economic development goals through supplier diversity efforts and managing risk via customer and market diversification planning. The event will close with a networking reception.
