VPI adds USB Type C video cables
Video Products Inc. (VPI - Aurora, OH) this month announced the addition of USB Type C video cables to its line of video cables. The cable connects a USB 3.0 Type C device directly to a 4K HDMI or DisplayPort monitor.
VPI’s USB Type C video cables are compatible with USB 3.0 Type C devices with DP Alt Mode or Thunderbolt 3 capabilities. They are used to mirror the display from a connected laptop, tablet, or smartphone; and can also be used to connect a mobile device to a laptop.
Details of the new cables, per VPI, include the following:
- The USB3C-HD4K-xx-MM USB 3.0 Type C Male to 4K HDMI Type A Male Adapter Cable connects a computer, tablet, or smartphone with USB Type C connectors directly to an HDMI monitor, TV, or projector. It supports Ultra-HD 4Kx2K resolutions to 3840x2160 and 4096x2160 @60Hz, and HDTV resolutions to 1080p @144Hz. The cables are HDCP compliant, support EDID pass-through and Plug-n-Play specifications, and feature gold-plated connectors for smooth, corrosion-free connections. The cable is available in lengths of 3/6/10 feet, and requires no drivers.
- The USB3C-DP4K-xx-MM USB 3.0 Type C Male to 4K DisplayPort Male Adapter Cable connects a computer, tablet, or smartphone with USB Type C connectors directly to a DisplayPort monitor or projector. It supports Ultra-HD 4Kx2K resolutions to 3840x2160 @60Hz, and HDTV resolutions to 1080p @144Hz. The cables are HDCP compliant, and support EDID pass-through and Plug-n-Play specifications. They feature a latching DisplayPort connector for secure fit and gold plated connectors for smooth, corrosion-free connections. The cable is available in lengths of 3/6/10 feet, and requires no drivers.
