Universal dvLED mounting system boosts large-scale video wall installs

Peerless-AV's SEAMLESS Kitted Series Universal dvLED Mounting System is showcased at this month's InfoComm 2023 in Orlando, Florida.

With the rise of AVoIP technologies, LED video wall systems technology supporting beyond 4K capability has been adding advanced processing and management capabilities apace. One growing technology extension has been dvLED video systems.

What is the difference between LED and dvLED technology? As explained by LG's US Business site: "Most LCDs are backlit by Light Emitting Diodes (LED), which provides a white light that goes through a shutter and becomes tinted to display color on the screen. LCD panels also often are bulkier and emit more heat. In contrast, Direct View LED (DVLED) panels do not need backlights, edge lights, and a shutter."

As illustrated by a PDF diagram found at the Legrand | AV website, a dvLED video wall system's modular backend design elements generally include an equipment rack and front door, a network switch, and blades for UPS backup power, LED image processor and media/content player.

As exhibited at this month's Pro AV industry technology conference InfoComm 2023 (IC23). held June 10-16 in Orlando, Florida, Peerless-AV's SEAMLESS Kitted Series Universal dvLED Mounting System for latching displays dramatically simplifies installation of dvLED displays at the system frontend with an accompanying wall template and unique quick-connect clamps.

Peerless-AV at IC23

Based in Aurora, Illinois, Peerless-AV is an innovative designer and manufacturer of audio and video systems and accessories. On June 6, the company announced its "world first" SEAMLESS Kitted Series Universal dvLED Mounting System (DS-LEDUNV) is now shipping globally, and will be shown in the company's booth #1329 ay IC23 exhibits from June 14-16.

Peerless-AV said its Universal dvLED Mounting System is compatible with the majority of flat-to-wall latching dvLED displays. The company said this kitted solution is feature-optimized for superior flexibility, scalability, and adjustability when installing flat-to-wall dvLED video walls, distinguishing it from other mounts on the market.

As observed by Nick Belcore, executive vice president at Peerless-AV:

"dvLED integration has come on leaps and bounds over the past few years, but there is still no standardization of latching mechanisms on OEM cabinets. Until now, this has made specifying, stocking, shipping and installing flat-to-wall dvLED video walls expensive, time consuming, and challenging. With our new Universal dvLED Mounting System, we are the first to the market with a truly universal solution that resolves these issues, making life easier for all parties involved in a project, and saving valuable time and costs versus dedicated mounts."

Value proposition

Per information in a press release, the Peerless-AV DS-LEDUNV addresses the complexities of achieving a perfectly flat, seamless finish on uneven wall surfaces with its display adaptors and X, Y and Z axis adjustment; unique features on Peerless-AV mount infrastructure.

As further stated by the company, "A key USP is the unassuming, yet fundamental component - the quick-connect clamps. With assistance from the installer-friendly wall template, the lightweight aluminum mounting frame quickly and accurately attaches to the wall, and the quick-connect clamps attach along the frame to facilitate fast, easy latching of dvLED cabinets. This results in a dramatically simplified installation."

The company said the kitted design of the DS-LEDUNV also makes it far more reconfigurable, should project requirements change. For example, if modifications are requested by the customer to the size of a dvLED video wall before the mounting system is installed, easy adaptations can be made without incurring substantial extra costs. To assist installation, drawings of the chosen Universal dvLED Mounting System are included in the box with along with instructions to assist the team deploying the solution.

The SEAMLESS Kitted Series Universal dvLED Mounting System is currently available for Absen, Barco, iNFiLED, LG, Philips, Sharp/NEC, SNA Displays, Sony, and Unilumin models as well as similarly sized and configured cabinets from other manufacturers.

The open architecture of the system provides ease of cable management keeping the install tidy. The DS-LEDUNV is available in black and silver and an optional Trim Kit Accessory (DS-LEDTK), compatible with most displays, provides a finished aesthetic to the sides and corners of the wall.

The SEAMLESS Kitted Series Universal dvLED Mounting System from Peerless-AV is now available for immediate delivery throughout North America.
