2.0 megapixel camera with H.264 compression

Advanced compression technology reduces the camera's bandwidth consumption.

The MP980 series of I-ONYX fixed network cameras is the latest addition from Vicon Industries. The day/night 2.0-megapixel cameras are available as indoor dome, outdoor dome, and box form. All models support H.264 compression technology, as well as offering MPEG-4 and M-JPEG compatibility. Users can receive multiple streams simultaneously in different resolutions, frame rates, and image qualities for viewing on different platforms.

A removable IR-cut filter and autoiris control allows the cameras to deliver clear images day or night, including in low light. Power over Ethernet capability eliminates the need for power cables. The cameras integrate with the ViconNet video management system and conform to the ONVIF global standard.

"Megapixel cameras, by definition, put greater demands on storage and bandwidth requirements than standard resolution cameras," explained Vicon's vice president of marketing and product management Mark Provinsal. "But by making use of H.264 encoding, Vicon's new megapixel cameras provide a means to address this issue by drastically reducing file sizes and therefore conserving network bandwidth."

These Tower Tech XR cooling towers use evaporative cooling to remove heat generated within the data center by IT equipment. Composite cooling towers are more compact and significantly lighter than metal towers. They arrive at a data center site pre-built.
Data center designers shouldn’t sleep on the benefits of fiberglass construction materials.
