Vicon unveils Surveyor-Mini IP PTZ camera for indoor/outdoor applications

Feb. 9, 2010
Vicon Industries has introduced the Surveyor-Mini, a smaller-profile addition to its main SurveyorVFT line. The vandal-proof IP-66 rated network PTZ camera dome is capable of producing high quality day and night video imaging with 10X optical zoom capacity.

Integrated IP video surveillance and access control systems developer Vicon Industries has introduced the Surveyor-Mini, a vandal-proof IP-66 (i.e. weather-proof) network PTZ camera dome, capable of producing day and night video imaging with 10X optical zoom capacity. The company says this smaller-profile addition to its main SurveyorVFT line more cost-effectively delivers levels of performance appropriate for use in most indoor and many outdoor applications that require a PTZ dome. The Surveyor-Mini offers either M-JPEG or H.264 compression; H.264 allows the unit to deliver high-quality video while minimizing impact on the network. All models make use of digital noise reduction technology, resulting in a clear and sharp image display even in the dark, and provide 360 degree pan/tilt rotation and 64 programmable presets. A variety of mounting options are available. The cameras will begin shipping in March 2010.
