PoE Switch Optimized for Lighting Control

June 6, 2024
Visual Productions’ 4-port non-managed switch includes four Type 3 PoE ports with 10/100-Mbit/sec Ethernet, ideal for small and medium lighting control systems.

Visual Productions is releasing a new PoE Switch at InfoComm 2024. The unmanaged, DIN-rail-mounted switch includes four Type 3 PoE ports with 10/100-Mbit/sec Ethernet speeds as well as one 10/100/1000 uplink port. It also supports IPv4/IPv6 quality of service.

The manufacturer calls the switch “the ideal companion” to connect its own controllers in small- to medium-sized lighting control systems.

“With the plug-and-play format, no configuration is required for setup, making it quick and easy for users of all skill levels,” Visual Productions said when announcing the product’s release. “The installer-friendly DIN-rail format also allows for perfect integration in DIN-rail system enclosures, while its design complements other DIN-rail solutions from Visual Productions.”

The switch works with IEEE 802.3af-compliant power distribution, and complies with CE, RoHS, UKCA, and FCC requirements.

The switch measures 4.09 x 4.16 x 2.36 inches with a total budget of 60 Watts—15.4 Watts per port. Its power consumption is 60 Watts maximum and 1.02 Watts in standby mode. The manufacturer also makes an optional HDR-100-48 power supply available.

The PoE Switch retails for $400 and is available through Visual Productions’ distributor, ACT Entertainment.
