Feb. 14, 2020
Installer of the Year, ICT Woman of the Year, and the Pfister Award for Excellence in the Telecommunications Industry were among the awards bestowed upon deserving professionals Wednesday, February 12.

On Wednesday, February 12, BICSI honored several industry professionals at its annual Awards Banquet, which is held as part of its Winter Conference and Exhibition each year. Following is a rundown of those honored during the event. We were on scene, and our photos from the ceremony are included here.

For the 13th consecutive year, installers and technicians from around the world participated in the Cabling Skills Challenge. "The arena in the exhibit hall was buzzing with excitement as competitors raced against the clock and each other in areas such as structured cabling installation, copper and fiber termination, firestopping, bonding and grounding, cable assembly, and troubleshooting," BICSI recalled.

Thomas Pate, INSTC, INSTF, of Bay District Schools, took home the title of 2020 BICSI Installer of the Year and the $5,000 check that goes with it.

Here are the other awards that were given out Wednesday evening.

The Harry J. Pfister Award for Excellence in the Telecommunications Industry, presented by the University of South Florida: David Landphair, RCDD
