HDMI extenders leverage HDBaseT

New HDBase-T/HDMI extender is designed for residential A/V installations where long Cat 6/STP cable runs are impeding digital video signal transmission.

Audio and video (A/V) technology specialist Key Digital (Mount Vernon, NY) has introduced its FatCat Series model KD-CATHD500Pro HDBT/HDMI Extenders, optimized for digital video distribution applications. This HDBase-T/HDMI extender is designed for residential A/V installations where long Cat 6/STP cable runs are impeding digital video signal transmission.

The FatCat Series model KD-CATHD500Pro offers support for HDBaseT Technology for the seamless switching and viewing of any source/input with any display/output, regardless of multiple output viewing relation. The HDBT/HDMI (Tx/Rx) extenders extend 1080p/60, 1920x1200, 3D signals up to 400 ft. via single Key Digital KD-CAT6STP1X Super CAT6 shielded cable, or up to 300 ft. using a single third-party Cat 6 shielded cable.

Key Digital's new extender also offers built-in EDID control, which ensures a proper handshake between HDMI devices every time. The extender also features both transmit and receive IR, RS-232 and Ethernet for bi-directional control signals. Key Digital will be exhibiting at CEDIA 2013. Learn more here.
