June 26, 2001 The Orinoco Universal Serial Bus (USB) client has received both the Wi-Fi and USB compliance test certifications, reports system manufacturer Agere Systems (www.orinicowireless.com). According to the company, earlier this month the USB Implementers Forum awarded USB certification and the USB logo to the Orinoco product, indicating it has passed testing for functionality, quality, interoperability, and compliance with the USB standard.

Wi-Fi certification, provided by the Wireless Ethernet Compatibility Alliance, is intended to assure users that approved devices will work with other Wi-Fi-certified wireless networking products and systems.
