TIA Honors Jonathan Jew with Lifetime Achievement Award

The Telecommunications Industry Association’s highest honor acknowledges dedication and contributions that have supported TIA over a long period.

At the Telecommunications Industry Association’s (TIA) TR-42 Engineering Committee’s meeting the week of June 3, the TIA honored longtime TR-42 leader and contributor Jonathan Jew with its highest honor, the Lifetime Achievement Award.

In a social media post announcing the award, the TIA said, “Jonathan has dedicated over two decades to TIA’s TR-42 and Technical Advisory Groups, holding various leadership roles such as Chair, Vice Chair, Secretary, and Editor. He has been instrumental in shaping TIA’s acclaimed data center standard, ANSI/TIA-942, and has made significant contributions to a wide range of premises and supporting standards.

“Jonathan is not only a valuable technical expert but also a mentor and leader who generously shares his wealth of knowledge with TIA TR-42 and other groups. His influence extends globally as am ambassador for data centers, ICT systems, technology, and standards.”

TIA also posthumously honored two other longtime contributors to TR-42, Ray Emplit and Wayne Larsen, with Lifetime Achievement Awards in 2024. Emplit and Larsen passed away in 2023.
