Webinar looks at fiber standards and trends

Put on by the TIA Fiber Optics LAN Section, the webinar will cover OM4, Passive Optical Networks, loss budgets and other fiber-optic information.

A webinar from the TIA Fiber Optics LAN Section (FOLS), to be held March 3, will cover fiber-optic local area network (LAN) standards as well as other news and trends in the fiber-optic cabling industry.

The webinar will be presented by Herb Congdon of TE Connectivity, who is the FOLS standards chair. The following topics are on the agenda.

  • OM4 fiber specifications - component and system requirements
  • Passive Optical Networks
  • Energy Efficient Ethernet
  • Loss budgets and connector loss
  • Review of standards-under-revision

Attendees are eligible to receive 1 continuing education credit (CEC) for certain BICSI designations. The webinar is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. EST on Thursday, March 3 and conclude at 12:30 p.m.
