Web seminar discusses latest TIA standards

Hosted by the TIA Fiber Optics LAN Section, the seminar will cover copper as well as fiber cabling.

Herb Congdon, chair of the Telecommunications Industry Association's TIA TR-42 Engineering Committee, will present a Web-delivered seminar on Tuesday, March 16 updating recent activity within TR-42 and its subcommittees. Hosted by the TIA Fiber Optics LAN Section, the seminar will cover standards topics including:

  • The status of TIA-568-C
  • A review of standards under revision
  • OM4 fiber specifications
  • Passive optical networks
  • Progress on 10-Gigabit Ethernet
  • Plastic optical fiber
  • Power over Ethernet Plus

The seminar will be held from 11:00 am to 12:15 pm Eastern Time on March 16.
