June 1, 2009 -- Sunrise Telecom, a supplier of in test and measurement platforms for telecom, cable and wireless networks, introduced its UDSL-3Play module for its Modular Test Toolkit (MTT) platform. When combined with the company's MTT Advanced Cable Maintenance (ACM II) chassis, the UDSL-3Play module enables telecom service providers to thoroughly verify the copper infrastructure and triple play IP services delivered over a universal DSL access network.

According to Sunrise Telecom , the UDSL-3Play module provides efficient yet comprehensive testing capabilities for ADSL, ADSL2, ADSL2+, and VDSL2 based access networks. Key features include both customer premises and central office DSL modem emulation, and IP data connectivity and throughput tests to determine Internet access and overall Quality of Experience (QoE).

In addition, the test module can measure QoE for IP video by emulating a set top box and for VoIP by emulating an IP Phone. Features such as a single button DSL test automatically presents a summary screen of key metrics, accelerating triple play installation.

"Our telco customers are focused on driving higher revenues from bundled services requiring them to migrate to ADSL2+, VDSL or FTTH," remarks Bahaa Moukadam, Sunrise Telecom's vice president of marketing. "This new product introduction is a continuation of our focus on providing our customers with innovative, simple to use and timely solutions to help supercharge their major business initiatives."

"As telcos migrate to all IP networks, Sunrise Telecom's MTT ACM II with this newest module will prove to be a key tool for DSL and IP services testing," adds Olga Yashkova, industry analyst, Frost & Sullivan.
