Viavi teams with Ingram Micro to distribute fiber and cable network test lines

The two companies have agreed on a distribution deal for Viavi test solutions in the United States.

Viavi Solutions Inc. (NASDAQ: VIAV) on Jan. 14 announced an alliance with Ingram Micro Inc. for U.S. distribution of select Viavi test instruments for fiber and cable networks, and performance management solutions for enterprise networks.

Viavi product portfolios represented in the deal include fiber test tools such as the company's FiberChek Sidewinder and T-BERD/MTS-2000 OTDR devices; its Trilithic cable signal leakage detection lines; the Observer enterprise network performance monitoring and diagnostics (NPMD) solution; and a range of optical meters.

The companies contend that via the combined strengths of proven test and measurement solutions from Viavi, plus Ingram Micro’s service and technology expertise, network managers and service providers might fully leverage the potential of innovative technology to achieve greater network performance, visibility and efficiency.
