Tempo Communications Acquires Westek Electronics Inc.

The acquisition adds more testing capabilities as well as cable and connectivity products to Tempo’s portfolio.

On May 1 Tempo Communications acquired Westek Electronics Inc., a manufacturer of custom cable and connectivity products, as well as some test products, serving the telecommunications, medical, aerospace, and military industries.

“This strategic move reflects Tempo’s commitment to enhancing its capabilities and providing unparalleled services to its valued customers,” Tempo said when announcing the acquisition. Tempo provides tools and test equipment for the communications-service provider industry.

Tempo added, “Westek Electronics stands out for its diverse range of products, specializing in custom cables and connectivity solutions. They maintain stringent high-quality manufacturing standards, as certified under ISO 9001:2015 and TL 9000:2016. The addition of Westek Electronics to Tempo’s portfolio bolsters [our] position as a key player in the test equipment market. This acquisition opens new avenues for innovation and growth, allowing Tempo to offer a wider range of high-quality products and solutions to meet the evolving needs of industries worldwide.”

Shown on this page is the Combi Cord, one of Westek’s flagship products. The Hybrid OSP Combi Cord, Westek explains, “includes a clip access/RJ11 jack to 453A (P2EF), P2FM, 463A (looking out), and chuck ends.” With the Hybrid Combi Cord, a technician has the capability to test at the central office with proven outside plant durability, the company adds.

The Combi Cord and hundreds of other Westek products are now part of the Tempo Communications portfolio.
