AFL wins Spartanburg Chamber of Commerce award

AFL invested $8.6 million last year to expand operations in Spartanburg, SC.

AFL announced that it is the recipient of the 2013 Economic Futures Award, presented during the 95th Annual Chamber Meeting for the Spartanburg Area Chamber of Commerce, in Spartanburg, South Carolina.

Each year the Economic Futures Group, the economic development organization for Spartanburg County, honors one company for its continued and substantial investment in the community.

Headquartered in Spartanburg County since 2005, AFL invested $8.6 million last year to expand operations resulting in an additional manufacturing facility in Duncan.

“AFL has been in the upstate since 1984," commented Jody Gallagher, president and CEO of AFL. "By holding fast to our vision to positively impact communities by delivering superior solutions, AFL has continued to grow locally and internationally by collaborating with our communities and investing in new markets."

AFL manufactures, engineers and installs fiber-optic cable and associated equipment. Customers include regional and long distance telephone carriers, electric utilities, cable television operators, wireless service providers, data communication providers, private network operators and equipment manufacturers.
