Fiber Connect 2024 is underway, and the Fiber Broadband Association announced that event attendees can earn 10 BICSI Continuing Education Credits (CECs). BICSI’s CEC program was made to “maximize training resources in expanding knowledge while maintaining current credentials in an efficient manner.” The CECs from Fiber Connect 2024 are being posted on BICSI’s website and will be valid for two years.
The event is held from July 28th to 31st this year in Nashville, Tennessee. It includes sessions on deployment strategies, public policy, technical deep dives, a workforce development workshop, and more. On July 29th Deborah Kish, VP of Research and Workforce Development, lead the educational workshop “Pathways for Organizational Growth: Workforce Development, Retention, and Diversification”. This initiative supports employers in workforce development approaches allow for a certification pathway, such as FBA’s Optical Telecom Installer Certification (OpTIC Path) program as well as meet BEAD funded expansion initiatives in deploying fiber broadband across the U.S.
