Online Seminars Covering High-Density Cabling Earn Continuing Education Credits
Two upcoming webinars, hosted by Cabling Installation & Maintenance and delivered by experts in data center cabling practices, will focus on several aspects of high-density fiber-optic cabling in data center environments.
Cable Management Best Practices
On Wednesday, September 9, “High-Density Cable Management: Best Practices for Performance, Scalability and Serviceability” will broadcast live at 1:00pm EDT/10:00am PDT. Delivered by Chatsworth Products’ senior product manager for open architecture systems, Michael Moore, the hour-long seminar will explore the market and technology drivers behind high-density deployments, define what “high density” means in modern environments, and review relevant industry standards.
Attendees will gain practical insights into pathway design, rack and enclosure considerations, and proven cable management techniques that reduce cable congestion, preserve serviceability, and help maintain proper airflow. The session also will cover strategies for managing moves/adds/changes, maintaining accurate documentation, and preparing for future demands such as 400 and 800G networking, AI workloads, and higher power requirements.

Testing High-Density Fiber Links
A week later, on September 16, Fluke Networks’ product application specialist Jim Davis will deliver “Best Practices for Testing New high-Density Fiber Connectors in Data Center Environments.” Davis will cover Tier 1 and Tier 2 methodologies, limit selection, polarity verification, and multifiber measurement considerations. He also will discuss critical inspection and cleaning workflows to mitigate contamination, which remains a leading cause of fiber network failures.
Attendees will gain insight into selecting appropriate test equipment, adapting procedures for MPO and emerging high-density connector types, and overcoming common challenges such as closely spaced events, polarity complexity, and multi-lane performance dependencies.
