Bulgin Introduces Bio-Based Vitalis Buccaneer Connector Range
Sustainable Alternative to Bulgin’s Flagship Series
Bulgin has launched the Standard Vitalis Buccaneer, a new connector range that provides a bio-based alternative to the company’s long-standing Standard Buccaneer series. The design uses up to 86% bio-based content while maintaining the same technical capabilities.
The connectors provide power ratings up to 12A and 277V AC/DC, with options ranging from two to 25 contacts and seven body styles, including flex cable, inline cable, panel mount, PCB mount, bulkhead, and flange mount configurations.
Rugged Performance for Harsh Environments
Engineered with IP68 and IP69K sealing, the Standard Vitalis Buccaneer connectors are intended for applications in harsh operating conditions, including industrial systems, automotive electronics, and marine equipment.
Material and Packaging Improvements
Two new plastics were selected for the connectors, chosen for their ability to combine durability with sustainability. The product packaging also uses biodegradable polyethylene with a bio-additive to reduce environmental impact.
Company Perspective
“The Standard Vitalis Buccaneer range exemplifies the company’s direction in creating more sustainable technologies,” said German Casillas, Managing Director at Bulgin. “We set out to launch a product that puts the environment front and center, without compromising strength, reliability, and durability.”
