AFL has announced the launch of the Fujikura 100S Fusion Splicer and CT60 Fiber Cleaver, expanding its portfolio of fiber splicing and preparation tools.

According to AFL, the new tools automate several manual adjustments that traditionally required higher levels of technician experience and precision. By reducing splice preparation time by up to 30% and minimizing common alignment errors, the 100S and CT60 are made to help crews work faster without sacrificing splice quality.

The Fujikura 100S core-alignment fusion splicer provides dual-fiber support, allowing technicians to prepare and load two fibers simultaneously. The splicer also features Splice Coach, a built-in virtual system that gives real-time feedback during the splicing process to help technicians advance new skills. Additional features include integrated GPS tracking and location-based locking for enhanced security and traceability.

Launching alongside the splicer, the CT60 Fiber Cleaver adds further automation with its Auto Blade Adjustment system that offers 28 blade positions for finer control. The cleaver is designed for one-handed operation and includes Bluetooth connectivity for integration with compatible Fujikura splicers.

“Today’s fiber deployments require technicians to work faster without compromising splice quality,” said Megha Garlapati, product line manager at AFL. "The 100S and CT60 are the only splicers on the market with this level of intelligent automation. By automating manual adjustments, these tools let technicians focus on the splice, not the setup."

As the distributor of Fujikura splicers in North America, AFL provides technical support, repair services, and parts availability for the product line.
