L-com has recently released a line of omnidirectional antennas that are waterproof, low-profile, and cover a frequency range from 650 MHz to 5.85 GHz. The antennas have linear polarization and according to L-com “offer excellent power transfer and low loss for improved coverage, better broadcast control, and faster speed”.
Over half of the new 19 antennas cover either 2.4 to 2.5 GHz or 2.4 to 5.85 GHz. This makes them great for Wi-Fi and ISM, WLAN, Bluetooth, and much, much more. The rest of the antennas cover 860-870 MHz, 900-935 MHz, 2.4-5.85 GHz, 3.3-3.8 GHz, 650 MHz to 3.31 GHz or 800 MHz to 2.7 GHz. These models of antennas would be best used for public safety, security, construction, etc.
These rubber duck antennas are not only waterproof, but most have an IP65 or an IPX7 ingress rating and wide operating temperature range of -40° C to +65° C (-40° F to +165° F). The threaded outer shell of the antennas’ connectors ensures a secure and stable connection through vibrations and movements.
Most of the antennas are 2 to 3 inches long and not only fit in limited spaces but are less likely to be damaged, on top of that they aren’t as obtrusive as longer antennas. L-com’s new antennas can be positioned in many different ways from vertically, at a right angle, and many more variations.
