Leviton and Superior Essex dissolving NextLAN partnership

March 15, 2013
Leviton also announces lifetime warranty program for installations with Berk-Tek cable.

On the heels of the announced dissolution of the NetClear cabling-system partnership between Berk-Tek and Ortronics, the partnership between Leviton Network Solutions and Superior Essex, called NextLAN, also is ending. Leviton posted the announcement on its website under the heading “Assurance of Warranty Continuity”—clearly emphasizing that warranties already issued through the partnership will be upheld.

“Beginning May 20th, 2013, Leviton Network Solutions and Superior Essex will no longer engage in collaborative marketing efforts related to the two companies combined structured cabling system,” the announcement says. The Berk-Tek/Ortronics NetClear dissolution is effective May 19.

“Leviton Network Solutions supports its customers and stands behind its warranties,” the statement later says. “Thus we offer assurance to our certified contractors and their customers that we will continue to honor existing product and performance warranties for Leviton/Superior Essex installations in accordance with the terms and conditions that were in place at the time of issuance.

“It’s important to note that Leviton Network Solutions has always managed the submittal, approval and issuance of system warranties for our certified contractors and their customers, and we will continue to provide those services in the future,” the statement also says.

Alongside that corporate announcement, a statement from Leviton Network Solutions’ vice president and general manager Ross Goldman addressed the company’s limited lifetime system warranty programs. “In response to questions from our many customers and partners, we want to confirm Leviton’s continued long-standing support for our industry-leading system warranties, as offered through our certified contractor program,” Goldman said in the statement.

“First, Leviton is pleased to communicate the immediate availability of a limited lifetime warranty for all new Leviton and Berk-Tek installations. Leviton has warranted many of these installations over the years and this program is now available for all of the United States and Canada, effective [March 7, 2013].

“Second, is to offer our assurance to our customers that Leviton will continue to support limited lifetime warranties on new installations where Leviton/Superior Essex is specified for the foreseeable future, per our existing warranty terms and conditions.

“Finally, Leviton will continue to issue and support limited lifetime warranties with Mohawk and 15-year limited warranties with General, Belden, Commscope and Hitachi as detailed on our website.”
