Epson has released new commercial projectors that incorporate HDBaseT technology to enable professional installers to reduce deployment time and costs without sacrificing video quality.

Designed for commercial applications, the Epson EB-G6900WU and EB-G6800 projectors are company’s first releases as a member of the HDBaseT Alliance. Both models support HDBaseT technology for the transfer of five signals, including uncompressed HD video, audio, power and control, over distances of up to 100 m using standard Cat 5/6 cabling.

“HDBaseT holds exciting potential for integrators and Epson is amongst the first wave of adopters in the projection market," Frederic Haton, senior product manager, Epson Europe. "By providing a dedicated connectivity interface including video, data and power over Ethernet that uses standard network cabling, it is expected to impact installations by reducing complexity, time and cost.”

According to Epson, the EB-G6900WU and EBG6800 projectors both feature very high lumen counts and can project into corners and onto curved surfaces. The models are also compatible with the Epson EB-G5 series lenses -- ideal for businesses that want to upgrade their installation projectors.The EB-G6900WU features a WUXGA screen resolution, while the EB-G6800 projects images with an XGA screen resolution.

Images aimed at a curved surface or the corner of a room are automatically adjusted, allowing users to project without distortion. In addition, the projector can be rotated vertically by 360 degrees so users can easily move the display around the room to suit their needs. Detailed colours are faithfully reproduced with Epson’s 3LCD technology, while projections can be shown in a variety of ambient light levels, thanks to an equally high White and Colour Light Output.

Both models are easy to set up and use, thanks to a variety of user-friendly installation features, such as pixel alignment and color uniformity. These features ensure that once the projectors are installed, users can concentrate on delivering their content rather than adjusting screen settings.

Epson's Haton concludes, “Both these professional installation projectors are ideal for rental markets, thanks to the bright, powerful projections and innovative features they boast. Edge blending, for example, means a large, widescreen image can be projected from a number of projectors and stitched together seamlessly.”

The Epson EB-G6900WU and EB-G6800 will be available starting in June 2013.
