What follows is a collection of images taken in April 1987 by Achim Hering, a German-born professional residing in Canada. Hering is an expert in testing, fire protection and product certification, as well as sales, marketing, construction.

The above photo shows a cable spreading room at the Point Tupper, Nova Scotia coal power plant, underneath and looking up at the control room’s cabinet locations -- revealing cable lacking in adequate firestops. The photos may be dated, but the stakes of poor firestopping are eternal.
