The WBT business is now part of nVent’s Electrical and Fastening Solutions segment, and will be added to the CADDY product line.

nVent Electric plc recently announced the acquisition of substantially all the assets of WBT LLC, a manufacturer of cable tray. The WBT business will become part of nVent’s Electrical and Fastening Solutions (EFS) segment, and will be marketed as part of the nVent CADDY product line. WBT is based in Centralia, IL and has manufacturing facilities at that location as well as in Chandler, AZ. WBT employs approximately 40 people.

“WBT’s unique and labor-saving cable tray product line is the perfect complement to our nVent CADDY j-hooks and fasteners, allowing us to offer customers a one-stop solution for cable management and pathways for DNS [data center and networking solutions] as well as commercial and industrial applications,” said Robert van der Kolk, president of nVent’s EFS business.

Joe Ruzynski, president of nVent’s enclosures business, added, “Taking this one step further, we can offer customers even greater value by combining nVent CADDY fastening products and WBT cable tray with our nVent Hoffman liquid cooling enclosures—a truly differentiated, One nVent solution for DNS.”

The CADDY brand of products has served contractors, architects, engineers and others since 1956, providing fixing, fastening, and hanging products. The products are used in data-communications, electrical, mechanical, fire-protection, HVAC, seismic and rooftop applications.

David Landphair is director of nVent’s CADDY electrical and data markets in North America. At the BICSI Winter Conference held in Tampa, FL February 10-13, Landphair was awarded the Harry J. Pfister Award for Excellence in the Telecommunications Industry. The Pfister Award is widely recognized as the industry’s lifetime achievement award. He has worked in the telecommunications industry for more than 30 years.
