August 2, 2007 -- MultiDyne Video and Fiber Optic Systems, a provider of fiber-optics for the transport of video and audio for broadcast applications, has announced the appointment of Bob McAlpine to the role of vice president of global sales and business development.
In the role, McAlpine will be responsible for the continued promotion and development of markets for MultiDyne products and applications worldwide, says the company.
According to a press release, McAlpine joins MultiDyne after 23 years as senior vice president of sales and marketing for PESA Switching Systems, and most recently as vice president of sales and marketing communications for QuStream Corp., manufacturers of routing switcher systems. McAlpine successfully assisted in obtaining sustained sales growth and the highest level of bookings in QuStream's history last year, says MultiDyne.
"Bob's extensive experience in managing growth in multiple video markets, his knowledge of industry applications, and established relationships within the industry will be invaluable to our organization as we continue to expand our operations worldwide," comments Jim Jachetta, MultiDyne's senior vice president of sales and marketing. "As vice president of sales and marketing communications for QuStream, Bob led a successful campaign to increase brand awareness through both distribution partners and direct sales channels. His expertise fits well with MultiDyne's plans for future market growth in the broadcast television industry, and we're very pleased to welcome him onboard."
Prior to joining QuStream and PESA, McAlpine also held senior management and sales positions at 3M Corporation, and as operations manager of the Metropolitan Transmission Center in NY. McAlpine holds a BSEE from Polytechnic University of New York.
