October 22, 2007 -- JDSU announced that Thomas Waechter has been appointed as president of the company's Communications Test & Measurement business.
In the role, Waechter will be responsible for global sales, product development and operations. He will report directly to Kevin Kennedy, JDSU's president and chief executive officer. "We are delighted to have Tom Waechter take the helm of JDSU's communications test and measurement business," comments Kennedy. "Tom's former leadership of public companies as both chief operating officer and chief executive officer will provide JDSU's communications test and measurement continued market leadership under his direction. I would also like to thank Helmut Berg for his enormous contribution and look forward to working with him in his new role."
According to a press release, Waechter brings more than twenty years of technology, operations and executive experience to JDSU. Most recently, he was the chief operating officer of Harris Stratex Networks, an independent supplier of wireless transmission systems, where he was responsible for global operations, sales, services and customer satisfaction. "My immediate priorities will be to continue to grow JDSU's market leadership position in communications test and measurement while focusing on providing our customers with innovative products and services."
