Ciena offering free Carrier Ethernet certification/training to US Armed Forces veterans

Spots will be reserved for veterans in each of the company's Carrier Ethernet (CE) certification and optical communications associate level classes.

High-speed networking infrastructure specialist Ciena (NASDAQ: CIEN) has announced a new program with the US Department of Veterans Affairs to offer qualified honorably discharged, retired and active duty service members for all five branches of the US Armed Forces access to Ciena´s technology certification programs, free of charge.

Spots will be reserved for veterans in each of Ciena´s industry-recognized Carrier Ethernet (CE) certification and optical communications associate level classes, which are offered at over 50 accredited colleges from throughout the world.

The training will provide qualified veterans with applicable certification in emerging technologies for a wide variety of jobs that are needed across different disciplines including telecommunications, IT and cyber-security.
