Introduced in January, the TETP-800 tone and probe kit from Jonard Tools is billed as ideal for any Voice Data Video (VDV) professional.
Designed to allow technicians to quickly trace and identify cables, wires, and wire pairs, the kit includes the company's TET-600 Cable Tester & Toner; TEP-100 Tone Tracing Probe; and (2) 9V batteries.
Jonard's TET-600 tester and tone generator provides tones via (1) built-in RJ11 connector or (2) alligator clips. Designed to work with Jonard's TEP-100 tracing probe or other probes to identify cables, the TET-600 is able to test the continuity of cables and the polarity of telephone lines, and includes a 9V battery required for operation.
For its part, the TEP-100 tracing probe's plastic probe tip prevents accidental shorts. With an adjustable volume knob for silent operation or to make tones heard more easily, the TEP-100 works with many other manufacturers’ analog tone generators. The probe includes a 9V battery required for operation.
The kit is approved to CE Standards and weighs 0.664 lb (301.2 g).
