Tony Campbell (second from L), global sales director, Paige DataCom Solutions, and Carrie Goetz, global director of technology for Paige Electric Company, L.P., receive the company's 2017 Cabling Innovators award from Cabling Installation & Maintenance chief editor Patrick McLaughlin (L) and publisher Alan Bergstein (R).

Paige DataCom Solutions announced that its patent-pending GameChanger cable was awarded with the Platinum-level award in the annual Cabling Installation & Maintenance Innovators Awards program. The awards were presented at the 2017 BICSI Fall Conference (Sep. 24-28) in Las Vegas.

Paige's GameChanger is a 22 AWG twisted pair cable that is capable of transmitting high definition video and PoE (Power over Ethernet) up to 850' without repeaters, and up to 4000' with PoE repeaters. The cable was designed and engineered to be able to support perimeter and large space high definition video applications (i.e. security cameras) without the need to add intermediate equipment rooms or spaces that would be required with traditional Category cables. Paige says it designed the GameChanger cable to be optimized for long-length video transmissions.

The Cabling Installation and Maintenance Innovators Awards program was developed to recognize the most-innovative cabling and communications technology products and systems within the structured cabling industry, as determined by a panel of senior, third-party expert judges, reflecting decades of professional experience working with structured cabling and communications systems. Company and product entrants to the program were judged based on key criteria including: innovation; value to the user; sustainability; meeting a defined need; collaboration; and impact on the industy.

"The judging panel consisted of cabling and communications system specifiers, designers, integrators and managers with vast professional experience," said Alan Bergstein, publisher of Cabling Installation & Maintenance. Bergstein added, “This prestigious program allows Cabling Installation & Maintenance to celebrate and recognize the most innovative products and services in the structured cabling industry. Our 2017 Honorees are an outstanding example of companies who are making an impact in the industry.”
