Corning Cable Systems pushes FTTH-MDU cabling, connectivity

Sept. 25, 2012
Corning Cable Systems will use the 2012 FTTH Conference & Expo in Dallas, TX to show off its latest fiber-optic network infrastructure products.

Corning Cable Systems will use the 2012 FTTH Conference & Expo in Dallas, TX (Sept. 23-27) to show off its latest products aimed at fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) multiple-dwelling unit (MDU) applications. At the show, the company will display its new FlexNAP Façade and RPDpass indoor pre-connectorized systems.

The FlexNAP Façade MDU system is designed to enable technicians to deploy optical fiber using an outdoor riser when traditional indoor options are unavailable. Expanding upon existing FlexNAP technology for FTTH applications, each floor in the MDU is serviced with an OptiTip Connector for a simple multi-fiber plug-and-play application, the company says.

Meanwhile, the RPDpass indoor preconnectorized system is designed to offer quick connection of riser segments and drop cables. Featuring an MTP-enabled riser segment, the system includes storage capabilities in the basement or floor distribution terminals for a complete plug-and-play approach. The FTTH Conference exhibit will also include Corning’s Pretium EDGE optical cabling and connectivity range for data centers.
