August 14, 2009 -- Radiall USA, Inc. has expanded its QMA product line to include its high density RF coaxial Waterproof QMA (WQMA) connectors with proprietary, snap-on Quick Lock technology. The company says the connectors' outstanding electrical performance and environmental characteristics provide long-term durability for harsh, demanding outdoor applications, eliminating the need for costly and bulky watertight enclosures or cable entries.

The company notes that WQMA connectors are an alternative to traditional SMA connectors for applications up to 6 GHz, and provide high density and quick connections within and to RF modules. In addition, the WQMA connectors are intermateable and backward compatible with any QLF certified standard QMA jack and provide IP68 ingress protection when mated. The connectors are RoHS compliant, have enhanced corrosion resistance, and are rated for 100 matings minimum. They come in a range of straight and right angle options, support a wide temperature range of -40 deg C / +105 deg C, and a power rating of 200W @ 1 GHz, 75 deg C. They are available for most popular cables as well as for a broad range of panel-sealed QMA jacks in different configurations.

The WQMA connectors support outdoor applications such as portable test and GPS equipment, RFID, wireless surveillance cameras, base stations, handhelds, as well as interconnections between modules and antennas needed for Wi-Fi, WiMax, 3G, 4G and more.
