U.S. Postal Service to consolidate 4 data centers into 1

April 14, 2011
A key element of the project involves the design and deployment of a new voice/data network.

The Data Center Journal reports that Compu Dynamics, LLC (www.compu-dynamics.com), a provider of mission-critical communications infrastructure, today announced that it has been selected by the U.S. Postal Service Office of Inspector General (USPS OIG) to consolidate four of its data centers into one new state-of-the-art facility. The USPS expects that the new data center will save significant operating costs while increasing capacity and energy efficiency. A key element of the project involves the design and deployment of a new voice/data network, and the physical relocation of all USPS OIG information technology assets into one condensed, consolidated data center, said the report.
