Former JDSU exec joins PCN senior management

Dave Karpenske to manage expanded growth of PCN Networks into commercial and industrial infrastructure.

PCN Technology, Inc. (PCN), a designer and manufacturer of communications products that transform legacy copper infrastructure into IP-enabled systems without impacting existing functionality, has announced Dave Karpenske as its chief operating officer (COO).

Before joining PCN, Karpenske was vice president of strategic and corporate marketing at JDS Uniphase (NASDAQ: JDSU), a specialist in communications test and measurement and communications/commercial optical products. He brings over 25 years of successful strategic and tactical operations, as well as sales and marketing management experience to PCN. His background includes running divisions with annual revenues of over $500 million in product and service sales, P&L's of over $400 million, and engineering budgets exceeding $80 million.

Prior to his position at JDS Uniphase, Karpenske was senior VP and GM at Credence Systems. He joined Credence in 2003 after spending 25 years with Schlumberger (NYSE: SLB), where his last position was president of North and Central America, where he was responsible for the telecommunications, semiconductor equipment, smart cards and IT outsourcing operations.

In his role at PCN, Karpenske will lead the strategic and tactical sales and marketing operations of PCN’s patented technologies, products and services. While doing so, he will work closely with PCN’s R&D, manufacturing, finance and support teams ensuring that the company’s growth is managed efficiently and successfully.
