At the February meeting of the Telecommunications Industry Association’s (TIA) TR-42 Telecommunications Cabling Systems Engineering Committee, the group elected Cindy Montstream of Legrand as its Chair. The selection was made by acclamation during a meeting of the entire TR-42 Committee.

Montstream is a long-time contributor to, and leader of, TR-42 and several of its subcommittees. In the early minutes of this video interview with Cabling Installation & Maintenance, during which she details a current standards-development project within TR-42, Montstream details her then-current assignments within TR-42 as of last fall.

Election of the TR-42 Vice Chair will be made by administrative ballot in a process that is likely to take one or two weeks.

Also at the February meeting, two subcommittees elected Chairs and Vice Chairs: TR-42.5 Telecommunications Infrastructure Terms and Symbols, and TR-42.12 Optical Fibers and Cables.

TR-42.5 elected Tiger Ninomiya of Accelink as Chair and Bob Faber of DLB Associates as Vice Chair. TR-42.12 re-elected Michael Stover as Chair and elected Daniel Smith of NEST Technical Services as Vice Chair.

When we have results of the TR-42 Vice Chair administration ballot, we will report them to you.
