Upgraded 4-pair cable

March 1, 1999
Originally introduced in August 1997, the lanmark-1000 unshielded twisted-pair 4-pair cable has been improved to meet draft Category 6 component and channel performance. The manufacturer says that modified engineering techniques have resulted in performance improvements in attenuation, near-end crosstalk, power-sum near-end crosstalk, attenuation-to-crosstalk ratio, power-sum attenuation-to-crosstalk ratio, equal-level far-end crosstalk, and power-sum equal-level far-end crosstalk. These electri

These electrical properties have gained attention lately because they are critical to high-speed protocols, including Gigabit Ethernet and Gigabit Asynchronous Transfer Mode. The new version of the lanmark-1000 retains the same shape and flexibility as the original issue.
