June 24, 2008 -- Milestone Systems (www.milestonesys.com), a developer of open platform IP video management software, announced that it has strengthened its relationship with communications products distributor Anixter (www.anixter.com) to expand into Latin America. The partnership between the two companies, already successful in North America, is intended to bring IP technology to the security market throughout the Latin American region.

"The relationship between Anixter and Milestone has thrived in the United States, so we look forward to growing our mutual business in the Latin American region," comments Manuel Nylén, territory sales manager, Eastern USA & Latin America, at Milestone Systems. "The Latin American market is demanding an open IP video software platform like Milestone XProtect that is powerful and easy to manage, offering the widest choice in hardware models and unlimited scalability."

Separately, Milestone Systems also recently announced the version 2.0 release of its XProtect Corporate software. Designed for large-scale deployments, the application supports unlimited numbers of cameras, servers and users, with central control and intuitive access clients designed to make large installations easy to manage.

Benefits for surveillance system administrators include wizards, a flexible rules system, automatic network scanning and camera model detection, with tight integration to IT environments for maintaining a high level of system integrity. Integration with Microsoft Active Directory provides strict user authorization and management; all configurations, activity logs and alerts are stored in a Microsoft SQL database. Other features include managing cameras in groups and assigning users to role-based security groups.
