AFL, Corning, and Sumitomo Electric, along with transceiver provider TeraHop, are working on a Multi Source Agreement (MSA) to specify the design, performance, and interoperability requirements of a four-core singlemode fiber.
The deal, which will last up to 10 years and could exceed $6 billion in value, will enable Molex to meet intense demand for fiber-optic connectivity within hyperscale data centers. It will prompt Prysmian to double its U.S. fiber and cable production capacity.
