Oct. 9, 2015
An improved poly-carbonate mechanical design, increased data point spacing, and latest-generation iOS Bluetooth chipset support are some key hardware improvements.

VeEX Inc., a specialist in telecom, CATV, fiber and broadband access testing, recently announced several enhancements to its versatile OPX-BOX+ OTDR platform.

The newly redesigned OPX-BOX+ OTDR features a number of updates compared to its successful predecessor, notes the company. An improved poly-carbonate mechanical design, increased data point spacing, and latest-generation iOS Bluetooth chipset support are some key hardware improvements.

Further, the company's Fiberizer Mobile software, used to operate the OPX-BOX+ remotely via iOS and Android platforms, has also undergone user interface and functional changes.

The tester's V-Scout link mapping feature has been simplified, while its Fiberscope support and R-server file transfer capabilities are now unified and fully integrated. Additionally, optical measurements have been improved using better processing and analysis techniques, while new PDF report generation and PON conversion tools provide additional functionality for FTTx applications.

The OPX-BOX+ OTDR was on display at the ECOC 2015 Fiber Exhibition in Valencia, Spain (Sept. 28-30) and will be shown at the SCTE Cable-Tec Expo in New Orleans, Louisiana, USA from October 14-16, 2015.
