Goodbye Greenlee Communications, hello Tempo Communications

March 15, 2019
The Tempo brand name returns as the privately held company acquires Greenlee Communications from Emerson.

As of February 1, 2019, a new company, Tempo Communications Inc., re-established the Tempo brand of communications test and measurement equipment through the purchase of Greenlee Communications and Greenlee Communications Ltd. from Emerson. “For business partners and customers, the acquisition means innovative, relevant and reliable solutions delivered with enhanced speed and agility, backed by more personalized service and support,” the company said when announcing the re-emergence of the Tempo brand.

Jason Butchko, Tempo’s president and chief executive officer, commented, “The strength of its customers, brands, products and people led us to purchase Greenlee Communications and establish Tempo Communications Inc. As a privately held company under management ownership, we remain committed to our partners and customers while aggressively expanding our portfolio through innovative, application-driven products manufactured to make the industry safer and more productive.”

Tempo Communications describes its management team as “new but seasoned,” and notes they are supported by existing Greenlee Communications staff. Butchko is the former vice president and general manager of Greenlee Communications and CEO of Textron Tools and Test. John Parizek, former chief financial officer of Tempo Research, is Tempo Communications’ CFO. And David Collmann, most recently president and chief executive officer of TesCom, is Tempo Communications’ executive vice president.

Butchko said, “Parizek and Collmann bring a wealth of experience from the telecommunications test industry to the new Tempo. Together with the rest of our team, we are laser-focused on nimbly delivering the best solutions in the industry at an exceptional value.”

The company added that during the integration process, “the Tempo Communications leadership team remains committed to transparency as well as superior service and reliability. This includes providing continuity and support to partners while minimizing any disruption in end-users’ day-to-day operations.”

Tempo added that a rebranding process has begun. You can visit Tempo Communications’ website at tempocom.com.
