Frost & Sullivan re-awards Viavi Solutions as consecutive leader in global fiber-optic test equipment

For the sixth year in a row, Viavi has received Frost & Sullivan's '2016 Competitive Strategy Innovation and Leadership Award.'

Viavi Solutions (NASDAQ: VIAV) announced that it has been named the leader in the global fiber-optic test equipment market by independent research firm Frost & Sullivan for the sixth year in a row. In recognition of the company’s strong overall performance, Viavi has earned the researcher’s '2016 Competitive Strategy Innovation and Leadership Award,' which "acknowledges best-in-class practices for managing growth, innovation, and leadership to deliver unique value to customers."

“Viavi has a long history of strong performance in fiber-optic test and measurement, and it is rewarding to be recognized for our strategic innovation and leadership,” commented Oleg Khaykin, president and CEO of Viavi Solutions. According to Frost & Sullivan’s analysis, Viavi is the market leader in the fiber inspection probe (FIP) product segment as well, noting that Viavi’s FIP solutions such as the company's FiberChek Probe are differentiated in the market by offering all-in-one, fully autonomous inspection with ease of use.

Other products highlighted as contributing to Viavi’s global fiber-optic test equipment market leadership include the company's SmartClass Fiber family, SmartOTDR Modules, and the T-BERD/ MTS 5800 100G Handheld Tester, as well as its Smart Link Mapper (SLM) applications for OTDR testing. Khaykin added, “The breadth and depth of our value-driven product portfolio, coupled with proven expertise, enables Viavi to not only meet customer demand, but to exceed expectations for both portable and benchtop testing from network equipment manufacturing through deployment, maintenance, and optimization.”

In awarding Viavi the 2016 Competitive Strategy Innovation and Leadership Award, Frost & Sullivan says it evaluated criteria such as strategic effectiveness and execution, competitive differentiation, price/performance value, customer service experience, and brand equity.
