Belden Completes Ruckus Acquisition

The $1.85-billion deal bolsters Belden’s offerings with WiFi and switch portfolios.

Belden announced July 1 it has completed its acquisition of Ruckus Networks from Vistance Networks. “The acquisition materially expands the combined organization’s addressable market and capitalizes on a significant industrial opportunity while delivering compelling enhancements to Belden’s financial profile,” Belden said once the deal was completed.

“This addition to our portfolio accelerates our transformation into a full-stack networking solutions provider that delivers broader, higher-value solutions for customers across enterprise and industrial environments,” said Belden president and chief executive officer Ashish Chand. “I look forward to working with the team as we capitalize on the benefits of this acquisition to create long-term value for customers and stockholders alike.”

As we reported when the deal was announced in the spring, Ruckus has approximately 48,000 customers globally. The Ruckus portfolio includes WiFi, enterprise switching, and an AI-driven cloud networking platform. “Ruckus is known for its differentiated technology, strong channel ecosystem, and focus on reliability and user experience at scale,” Belden said.

Vistance Networks president and chief executive officer Chuck Treadway said the completed acquisition “positions the Ruckus business with a strong owner in Belden while allowing Vistance Networks to continue to return significant cash to our shareholders. Additionally, it allows us to focus on growing our Aurora Networks business during an exciting upgrade environment.”
