Conta-Clip introduced the new KDSI-SR cable entry system which is made for installation in limited spaces such as the outside of an enclosure, control cabinet, or machine. As part of the company’s popular KDS Click cable management range the product makes it easy to reconfigure existing installations. The pieces can be simply removed, reassembled, and swapped out to fit various cables and tubes. The separable insertion of individual sealing elements makes cable management customizable, and because the cables with plugs don’t need to be taken apart and reconnected for retrofits or servicing the manufacturer’s warranty stays intact.
The KDSI-SR system has its basis in the simple assembly and modular design of the KDS program and uses the same pieces. This product has an inversed tapered design of the screw-on frame’s opening and also a two-part cover with TPE seals in three levels. Conta-clip states that, “This ensures an absolutely tight fit of the sealing elements and thereby IP66 ingress protection and reliable static strain relief compliant with DIN EN 62444.”
The sealing elements are cone-shaped with serrated edges which are available for one, two, or four cables or as blind plugs. When compared to cable glands, the modular cable entry system allows for increased packing density. Due to the system being halogen- and silicone-free it can withstand high and low temperatures. The frames come in variants of 4, 6, 8, or 10 sealing elements with a bevy of configurations to match different conductor diameters.
Conta-Clip’s KDSI-SR system is an innovation in the cable entry system sphere with the product’s multitude of elements and ability to maintain a manufacturer’s warranty.
