Stewart Connector (Glen Rock, PA), a Bel group company and manufacturer of high-speed connectors used in data communication applications, has introduced a new series of low profile mid-plane RJ45 connectors.

The company says its mid-plane RJ45 design allows the connector to straddle the board edge and utilize space above and below the printed circuit board compared to traditional RJ45 connectors that are only designed to mount above the printed circuit board.

With the design, equipment designers will gain valuable space and savings in applications where the RJ45 would typically be the tallest component on their printed circuit board by utilizing a mid-plane RJ45 reducing their product height by up to 25%.

The mid-plane connectors offer a high-speed solution for a wide array of IoT applications, including servers/switches, video game systems, and portable storage devices. The mid-plane RJ45 connectors support 1 and 2.5G data rates and 100 MHz transmission frequencies.

These connectors are available in 1x1 and 1x4 configurations, LED options-yellow/green and bi-color, and 0.085” and 0.125” tail lengths, and shielded to enhance EMI performance.

Stewart Connector’s Mid-Plane RJ45 Connectors line is in stock with Digi-Key, Heilind, Newark, Mouser, and Farnell in Europe.
