May 18, 2009 -- Comtrol Corp. announced that the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) has awarded the company with contract GS-35F-0401V under Schedule 70, which includes vendors of general purpose commercial information technology equipment, software and services. The GSA listing provides government customers with a convenient and efficient way to purchase the Comtrol's device connectivity, industrial Ethernet gateways and intelligent embedded device connectivity products.

"Comtrol has served government organizations for more than 25 years - particularly in the State and Defense departments," comments Ehssan Taghizadeh, president and COO of Comtrol. "Being listed on the GSA schedule will simplify our interactions with well-established customers and allow us to introduce Comtrol to a broader base of government agencies."

The GSA Schedules Program establishes long-term, government-wide contracts with commercial firms to provide agencies at all levels of government with access to more than 11 million commercial supplies and services. In becoming a GSA vendor, Comtrol was the subject of an independent audit of customer references and financial performance.

"We expect the 2009 economic stimulus package to drive a number of important government projects that include DeviceMaster device servers, RocketPort serial card products and our recently released RocketLinx MC family of industrial grade serial and Ethernet fiber media converters as key communication components," comments Bradford Beale, vice president of global sales for Comtrol. "Traffic and transportation, power utility, and industrial automation are just some of the sectors where Comtrol products already fulfill important device connectivity roles."
